# Cline

> Connect the Cline VS Code extension

## Install and configure

Install Cline from the VS Code marketplace. Set API Provider to **OpenAI Compatible**, then enter:

* Base URL: `https://api.bianxie.ai/v1`
* API Key: `API_KEY`
* Model ID: a model from the live model page

Use model-appropriate context and output limits if those controls appear. Run the connection test, then ask Cline to list the current directory without editing it. Keep operation approvals enabled. A `401` indicates a key problem, `404` usually means `/v1` is missing, and tool-format failures require a tool-capable model and a new session.
