Configure a custom OpenAI API in Cursor

Configure

1. Open Cursor Settings → Models.
2. Enable a custom OpenAI API key and enter API_KEY.
3. Set Override OpenAI Base URL to https://api.bianxie.ai/v1.
4. Add and enable an exact model ID from the live model page.
5. Select it in Chat or Agent.

Test with “Reply only with OK,” then ask Agent to read a file without editing it. For 401, replace the key; for 404, check /v1; for tool failures, use a tool-capable model and start a new chat.

Some proprietary Cursor features may remain tied to Cursor services. Availability in Chat, Agent, or completions depends on the installed Cursor version.
